Zakat is an important pillar of our faith that fulfills an obligation that allows us to connect and help our fellow man. Many of us wait until the month of Ramadan to get extra blessings and benefits when fulfilling our Zakat obligations.
LaunchGood is a global crowdfunding platform that makes it easy for Muslim communities to connect with each other and support good causes. Through their Ramadan Challenge campaigns they help organizations and individuals raise extra funds by providing daily contests, donation matching, and promoting zakat eligible initiatives.
We've highlighted 9 LaunchGood campaigns that we believe will have large impacts and support important global initiatives related to Education, Humanitarian Aid, Dawah and Muslim development. I love that there are so many to choose from and giving a little to each initiative allows you to reach a wider audience and have a greater impact in this life and in the hereafter.

My thoughts: The most formative years of my journey in Islam have been shaped by the content CelebrateMercy has shared year after year. I wholeheartedly encourage supporting initiatives like this, which continue to uplift people like me and countless others around the world.
The First Latino Masjid in the Midwest
Goal $700,000
This campaign supports establishing the first Islamic Center in the Midwest dedicated to serving Latino Muslims and sharing Islam with 6 million Latinos in the region. Located in an area with few masjids, this new center will enhance local outreach and contribute to global dawah efforts. The property, a historic Gothic-style building from 1948, includes a banquet hall, classrooms, a library, a kitchen, and parking, making it a fully equipped community hub. This initiative is a Sadaqah Jariyah, ensuring a lasting impact on the growing Latino Muslim community.

My thoughts: I've lived in the midwest most of my life and as a convert to Islam, I love supporting spaces that honor people's language and culture while simultaneously supporting their spiritual growth.
Eid Gift Boxes for Children in Care
Goal $9,684
This fundraiser aims to bring joy to Muslim children in foster care by providing gift boxes for Ramadan and Eid ul-Fitr 2025. With around 5,000 Muslim heritage children in care in the UK, approximately 2,500 are with non-Muslim carers, making this initiative crucial in keeping them connected to their faith.
The funds donated to My Foster Group's campaign will be used to: Create and Assemble Gift Boxes, Outreach & Awareness
My thoughts: This campaign spoke to the dad in me. I don't like the idea of children without loved ones going without gifts on such a festive day. If I could bring a smile to a child's face with my giving here, I'd do it! I hope you do the same.

Nourishing Sudan: A Month of Hope
Goal $200,000
Sadagaat's Ramadan Central Kitchens are providing nourishing Iftar meals to the hungry and displaced in Sudan, where 24.6 million people face acute food insecurity. The funds donated to Sadagaat's campaign will be used for: Iftar Meals this Ramadan.
My thoughts: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was even more giving in the month of Ramadan.
Ibn 'Abbas said that God's messenger was the most generous of men, and he was as generous as possible in Ramadan. Gabriel used to meet him every night in Ramadan and the Prophet would go over the Qur'an to him. When Gabriel met him he was more generous than the wind which blows freely. (Bukhari and Muslim.)
This campaign is a campaign that will have a direct impact on people during Ramadan and the months after. Please give what you can.
Give Clean Water to Yemen
Goal $20,000
Over 16 million people in Yemen, including more than 8 million children, lack access to clean drinking water, putting them at risk of waterborne diseases and malnutrition. For just $12, you can provide clean water for one person for a decade.
Currently, only one-third of Yemen's population has piped water, and women and children are forced to spend their days walking to collect water. This affects their safety, hygiene, and ability to pursue education or work.
The funds donated to Yemen Aid will be used to: Solar-powered community wells, Dignity Kits, Hygiene Awareness Campaigns, Water Infrastructure, Rehabilitation of Water Reservoirs
My thoughts: A couple of years ago I went to a fundraiser for yemen and was touched on just how much the prophet (peace be upon him) loved the people of yemen the praise he gave them. Anytime I think of places impacted by war or shortages of basic resources I want to do something about it. Please give what you can.
Narrated Abu Hurairah: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "The people of Yemen have come to you. They are weaker in heart and softer in understanding, faith is Yemeni and wisdom is Yemeni." Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3935

My thoughts: "Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and he eats for a life time". Knowledge is power and ensuring that all people have access to education is important. It can lift someone out of a cycle of poverty and make them a pilar in their community.
Help Build Classrooms for Gaza's Children
Goal $20,000
Due to the ongoing crisis and destruction in Gaza, many children are deprived of education, leaving them vulnerable to exploitation and child labor. The campaign aims to provide education for children in Gaza by building tented classrooms that offer a safe, supportive space for learning.
The funds donated to Bonyan's campaign will be used for: Prepared Classroom Tents, Whiteboards and Desks, Educational Materials.
My thoughts: Shortly after converting I was introduced to a Palestinian man who had migrated to the US. He was a wealthy individual who had helped build two Masjid's in our city. He attributed his success to his education in Gaza, provided by aid organizations, despite the challenging environment.
Conclusion
These campaigns focus on providing urgent relief, education, and Muslim development around the world.
